Production of “SPECIAL” high end rotary cutting tools for the most demanding applications is the norm for FTT. Within both facilities, Form Tool Technology employs over 30 CNC grinding machines. 90% of the CNC machines are equipped with robotics allowing for unattended “lights out” manufacturing. Along with the “SPECIALS” we manufacture high performance carbide drills and end mills for end users or private label contracts. FTT is capable of processing large orders consisting of 1000+ pieces or orders as small as 1 piece.

Form Tool Technology’s PVD Coating Department offers customers a variety of Physical Vapor Deposition Coatings (PVD) that are designed for specific machining applications. PVD coatings create a barrier between the cutting edge of the tool and the work piece to enhance wear and heat resistance, ultimately improving cutting tool performance. We offer contract coating services for cutting tool manufacturers, regrind shops, and products other than cutting tools like firearm components, recreational equipment, automotive parts, etc.

Reconditioning your cutting tools provides significant cost savings and inventory reduction without sacrificing performance. We recondition most cutting tool manufacturers’ drills, mills, reamers, etc., in addition to special tools. 

Edge preparations and surface treatments applied to cutting tools are critical factors when optimizing cutting tools. We offer several types of edge preps and surface treatments, such as K-Lands, C-Lands, Brush Honing, Drag Finishing, Polishing and several others.  

We offer fast turnaround of dressing and truing services of Diamond and CBN grinding wheels at very reasonable prices.

Form Tool Technology will design a single tool or a tooling package to machine your part. We provide conceptual and manufacturing tool drawings. 

Form Tool Technology offers private label manufacturing of Carbide, HSS, and PCD round tools, inserts, and indexable tooling. 

Whether laser marking a cutting tool or other type of part, we have you covered. With multiple laser machines fitted with automation, we can process thousands of parts per day.

With 3 Sodick wire EDM machines, we create complex forms where grinding is not possible or extremely difficult. We provide our customers with tool modification, roughing forms, and full-blown specials. We process solid carbide, carbide tipped, HSS, and PCD cutting tools. We do offer contract EDM manufacturing outside of cutting tools.

 We offer CNC OD grinding services for carbide and steel parts. OD Grinding capabilities include grinding between centers, centerless plunge grinding, centerless thru-feed grinding and peel grinding.

FTT utilizes the very best cutting tool inspection equipment available to guarantee part quality. Through serialization and batch information we can recall inspection data effortlessly. With the use of inspection equipment, we are capable of reverse engineering existing tooling to capture specifications.
